The difference in views from the 1950's to the current date in regards to dating. 3. The 1970's and "free sex" being introduced. 4. "Free sex" idea becoming a problem. 5. A description of the predator. 6. How the predator obtains advantages against you. 7. The misconception of "no" means "yes". 8. The use of rohypnol and its effects. 9. Sixteen preventative steps to avoid being a victim of date rape. Body: I. 1950's to Mid 1960's A. Dating was combined with the end of the night "big event" kiss B. Sexual intercourse was not an expected event II. Late 1960's to Early 1970's A. Kissing became a common ground for people B. Exploration to more advanced sexual conduct was presented III. Idea of "Free Sex" A. Becoming more and more popular B. Drugs were becoming more and more popular during the same time frame IV. End of the 1970's to Early 1980's A. Sexual intercourse common event with dating couples V. In the 1990's A. Not uncommon for boy's and girl's to go out on a date and end the date expecting oral sex or ultimately sexual intercourse B. Common statement today of "if you're gonna have sex use a condom, instead of "abstinence VI. Predator A. Person who will not accept the answer of "no" and will eventually attempt to have sexual intercourse with the victim B. Will use any means necessary to force the victim to have sexual intercourse with him/her. Including use of drugs to obtain cooperation from the victim. VII. One Way Predator Could Obtain Victim's Cooperation A. Rohypnol (use fact sheet) VIII. 16 Ways To Prevent Date Rape 1. Go out with friends with your first partner 2. Never leave your drinks or food unattended 3. Watch for your "internal trouble alarm" 4. Check the background of the date 5. Do not go to your partner's residence by yourself on your first date 6. Be weary of getting into vehicles that appear to be tampered with (ex: plastic linings) 7. Walk with date in mostly bright lit areas 8. Do not try to sexually tease your date 9. Don't give personal information on the Internet 10. Don't give information over the phone 11. Make sure he/she understands your meaning of "no" 12. Notify people where you're going and who you're with 13. Don't get intoxicated 14. Watch out for the "playboy...playgirl" attitude of your date 15. Leave date if he/she gets carried away 16. Watch out for parties that involve drug use If you don't follow some of the "16 Steps" you may be a victim to "rape". Review: Date rape is when you go on a date and your partner forces you to have sexual intercourse with him/her. Use to obtain cooperation is by the use of the drug rohypnol.
