The FOP is comprised of Law Enforcement Officers striving to improve their profession by improving working conditions, wages and benefits, and by monitoring legislation affecting law enforcement on the local, state, and national levels of government. FOP lodges are actively involved in community-oriented programs like Special Olympics and Easter Seals that foster positive interaction between law enforcement and the public.

Lodge #19 also actively supports the local D.A.R.E., Shop With A Cop, Explorers, and Boys and Girls Club programs with donations and member participation.
